Fruit Salad Faces in Year 1

Fruit Salad Faces in Year 1

As part of our design and technology work, the Year 1 children have been learning about fruits and vegetables. We’ve tasted a range of new foods and designed fruit salads to eat. To make our salads more fun, we turned them into colourful faces. The children worked so hard and enjoyed eating their creations once they were finished.

DT in Year 1

DT in Year 1

As part of our design and technology block, the Year 1 children are going to be making healthy, fruit salad faces. We have been researching the most popular fruits and vegetables in our class, which meant that we had to try a range of different foods. We have tried coconut, pomegranate seeds, pineapple, plum, mangos and many more fruits and vegetables that we might include as our ingredients. Lots of children have discovered some food that they now like and are going to ask their parents to add it to their shopping lists. Well done, Year 1!

World Book Day in Year 1

Year 1 had a wonderful time for World Book Day yesterday. We visited the hall to do some reading with our friends, made some book covers of our own and had lots of fun dressing up as a colour with our friends.

Pancakes in Year 1

Pancakes in Year 1

To celebrate Shrove Tuesday today, the Year 1 children have been decorating and eating pancakes. We discussed why we eat pancakes today and had lots of fun enjoying the ones that we had decorated. We raised money for the Mini Vinnies in school, as they were the ones who provided our treats!
