Hoops for Health

Hoops for Health

Year 5 did a great job of representing our school at the Hoops for Health tournament recently, where they playing in four teams, competing against other Year 5 teams from across the city. A great day was had by all, with one of our teams progressing through to the final which will be held at halftime during a Newcastle Eagles game. Every player worked brilliantly as part of a team and it was great to see our pupils congratulating other teams and celebrating their successes too. We even fitted in a bit of fancy footwork in some dance-offs between games!

PE in Reception

PE in Reception

Last week we went into the gym with Mr Marshall for an explore. We had lots of fun playing games and going on the climbing bars and the ropes!

This week, we got changed into our PE kits and Mr Marshall taught us a new game called, ‘bumper cars.’ We had to seat belt ourselves in and follow Mr Marshall’s instructions to move around the gym. The most important instruction was to stop in our own space. We have been asking to go back into the gym but have to wait until it is our turn on a Wednesday!

Year 1

To end our first week in Year 1, we went into the gym to complete an obstacle course. The children’s confidence increased massively throughout the session and they were soon moving around the course like professionals.
