Key Stage 2 have been having lots of fun in science this week. They have been building Christmas trees with straws, causing chemical reactions with left over cabbage water, making paper holly sprigs that magically open themselves and investigating solids and liquids to make delicious chocolate crispy cakes!
The children in year 4 have been saddened by the recent news that England players were targeted by racist abuse. Today we have been learning about racism and discovering how we can be allies, supporting people at the receiving end of this abuse. We have created letters and posters for Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and anyone else who has ever experienced at racism. We wanted them to know how proud we are and how we are going to stand up against racism. We hope to continue spreading the message of equality for all. Well done, Year 4!
This week has been PE week. We had to choose an Olympic sport and we decided to learn about boxing. We researched different Olympic boxers, found out about world records and discovered how boxers train. On Friday, we looked at some different moves and had a go at non-contact boxing. We made sure our friends were a distance away and told them the move we were going to make before making it. The children had lots of fun trying out some different kicks and jabs.
