E-safety in Year 4

E-safety in Year 4

We have been learning the SMART rules for keeping safe online. The ‘R’ in SMART stands for reliable, so today we were learning how to check information that we read online is real. The children explored a website all about a new creature, the tree octopus. The children couldn’t believe that they had never heard of this creature and were amazed at the video of it camouflaging and climbing up a tree. We explored this website for a while before using the BBC website to fact check. This is when we found out that this creature didn’t exist. This taught the children an important lesson: don’t believe everything that you read online!

Harvest Festival Mass

Today, Father Smith will be visiting school to celebrate Mass in the hall and we will beam it to all of the classrooms for all of the children to watch and participate.

Following Mass, Father Smith will take all food bank donations to Walker Food Bank.

We have received lots of kind donations for the food bank.

Father Smith would like to thank every one for their kindness and generosity, especially during these current difficult and unprecedented times.
