Harvest Festival Mass

Harvest Festival Mass

Today, Father Smith will be visiting school to celebrate Mass in the hall and we will beam it to all of the classrooms for all of the children to watch and participate.

Following Mass, Father Smith will take all food bank donations to Walker Food Bank.

We have received lots of kind donations for the food bank.

Father Smith would like to thank every one for their kindness and generosity, especially during these current difficult and unprecedented times.

A message from Santa Claus:

A message from Santa Claus:

We have received a message from Santa to pass onto all children and families of St Alban’s RC Primary School:

Dear children of St Alban’s,

It has come to my attention that children around the world, especially in Newcastle, are being told by older siblings, friends and even adults that Christmas is not coming this year or Christmas has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus. This is simply not true!

I have been practicing social distancing with Mrs Claus and the elves, just as you have been at home and school, we’ve now installed hand sanitising stations in all areas of the toy workshops. I can hear the elves singing ‘Happy Birthday’ numerous times a day as they’re washing their hands. Whenever we’re unable to reach a tissue we sneeze into our elbows, just like you at home. We’d like to reassure you all that everyone here is ok, just like the Easter bunny and Tooth Fairy.

All toys and presents have been sanitised and the elves have started to prepare my sleigh ready for delivery.

Do not worry boys and girls, when I travel I will not be spreading the virus and neither will my reindeers.

Everyone at the North Pole looks forward to visiting and watching everyone celebrate Christmas together very soon, but remember you must continue your hard work and good behaviour both at school and home!

We hope that all children and families are safe and well and we’d like to wish you all a very happy Christmas.

With love from,

Santa Claus

Childhood Nasal Flu Vaccination Programme

Childhood Nasal Flu Vaccination Programme

All children in England in school years Reception to Year 6 are eligible for the seasonal flu vaccination.

The School Based Immunisation Team are keen to handle administration of the immunisations in a sensitive manner. They will say hello and meet the children in the classroom prior to applying PPE so that children can see their transition, they will then carry out the nasal immunisation in the classroom your child is taught in. They are currently required to wear mask and visor, and cleanse hands between children. Below is a link provided by the Immunisation Team which you may find useful:

Our school immunisation date will be 11/11/2020 – There will only be one opportunity for your child to be vaccinated in school.

Below you will find a letter and information leaflet from the Immunisation Team with information regarding the ‘Childhood Nasal Flu Vaccination Programme’. Below you will also find the flu immunisation consent form, could we ask that you please return this form to school? Forms should be returned to school by Friday 23rd October.
