Year 6 Times Tables

Year 6 Times Tables

We have been working to improve speed and accuracy in our times tables recently. After some practise, we held a class competition against the teachers and Vinnie, Eliza and Hannah topped the league table as the most valuable players. Well done to everyone who took part. A rematch will be needed soon!

Exploring mass and capacity in Reception

Exploring mass and capacity in Reception

We used the balance scales to find the mass of things. We investigated which was heavier and lighter. Then we tried to make the scales balanced.

We made playdough using different sized measuring spoons.

We compared the capacity of different containers by counting how many scoops it would take to fill them. We then put them in order from smallest to biggest.

In our water tray, we filled and emptied our cups. We learnt half full and nearly full and showed this too. Then we looked at different containers, we filled our containers and poured them into Miss Green’s jug to see which one had the most and the least capacity.

Outdoor Angles in Year 5

Outdoor Angles in Year 5

Year 5 have been revising angles. To help us work on remembering clockwise and anti-clockwise, as well as degrees in quarter, half and full turns, we took advantage of the sunshine and took our maths learning outdoors.
